BATTLESHIP

When it comes to strategy, there is one game that does it the best and that is Battleship. This game is the ultimate blow up game with strategy and a bit of luck involved. The Battleship game can found online at Arcadeonline.com. Your objective is to destroy your enemy's fleet of ships before they destroy yours.

First you place your 5 ships on the board. These ships include an aircraft carrier, a battleship, a frigate, a submarine, and a minesweeper. Battleship gives you the option of putting each ship in a different place, either horizontally or vertically. You use your left and right arrow keys to place your ships. This is where some strategic moves come into play. Placing your ships close together could tip off your opponent once they uncover one ship. It also could throw them off. You then click your mouse to put your ships into the desired positions. You are the first player to make a move. You click on your opponent's game board on any square. Start with the corners and keep in mind that the battleship takes up 4 spaces and so on with the other chips. This helps to choose the right squares. A box to the left shows when your opponent strikes a piece on one of your ships. The objective is simple, the first player to blow up all 5 ships wins.

If you discover a piece of your opponent's ship it blows up and you get another turn. This presents a problem as you do not know which direction the boat is in. Misses are characterized by a poof of smoke on the board that resembles water. Darker blue squares remind you of which spaces you have checked for ship activity. Patterns may emerge that will help to plan your winning strategy. You have to look at the board and be able to see that 3 out of 5 ships are horizontal or maybe they are all vertically placed. It takes a good eye to win this game. You do have an encouraging captain as part of Battleship that lets you know when pieces or your whole ship has been hit or sinks. He also lets you know when you sink or hit your opponents ships.
